 § Will people start to pay on the black market to be augmented with prosthetics even though they don’t need it? § Will the disabled become an elitist society? § Will it be good to have children with disabilities so that they can become augmented? § Will people with prosthetics become a subculture? § New laws governing safety and informed consent, particularly with regard to children will have to be developed. § What kind of warranties should the user receive, what kinds of quality controls will be used? § If the device fails, who is at fault, the manufacturer or the surgeon who implants the device? |
