CHIRP is the latest in a number of innovative designs focused on the sustained production of bioplastics. Mathematically optimized to produce the maximum amount of bioplastic per kilogram of biomass, CHIRP is an industry revolution.

Our design is an entire platform consisting of three major components: a genetic circuit, a synthetic protein, and an advanced cultivation system. These three parts work in tandem to enable sustainable, efficient, and increased production of PHAs, specifically the PHA copolymer poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-4-hydroxybutyrate).

This series of pages details the main subsystems of CHIRP. Each page contains a virtual prototype of the component in question. Your browser must have support for Adobe Flash 9 installed to view these models, as well as working audio to hear narration.
