Utilizing Piezoelectricity and Photovoltaics to Increase Hybrid Car Efficiency

An Energy Crisis

"Conservation means development as much as it does protection. I recognize the right and duty of this generation to develop and use the natural resources of our land; but I do not recognize the right to waste them, or to rob, by wasteful use, the generations that come after us."

-Theodore Roosevelt

The age of technology is upon us. As the engineers of the world’s future, it is imperative that we do not limit our visions by restricting our use of the Earth’s resources. It is equally as important that innovators are conscientious to maintain the integrity of the Earth. The purpose of all scientific development should be to advance the welfare of the global community.

Pollution destroys natural environments, having detrimental effects on over 100 million people worldwide. Over 45% of the international consumption of oil is for gasoline in automobiles. Meanwhile, the EIA estimates that more than half of the world’s oil reserves will be depleted in just sixteen years.

Our endeavor is to rectify this pressing issue by implementing a new vehicular concept which utilizes more efficient fueling technologies.
