PACS Wrap: Interactive Prototype
- Biosensors use a “lab-on-a-chip” concept to detect bacteria
- Antibodies are utilized to sense different species of bacteria at one time
- After pathogenic bacteria is captured, their cells flow into a bead array
- Bacterial suspension transports the cells to the filter
- Bacterial cells are lysed, and the remnants are analyzed by the sensor array
- Once contamination is detected, an electrical charge is released
- The polyaniline changes color as a result
