How will CTRICITY work?

There will be a Transmitting coil on the Lamppost and a Receiving coil on the Car.

Both these coils will create magnetic fields that resonate at the same frequency and transfer electric energy from the poles to the car battery.

How will CTRIC Pathways work?

Ctric Pathways will use existing roads, lampposts and signboards!

The CTRIC coils will be installed on the lampposts creating a wirelessly connected electric grid.

In Ctric Pathways, a new energy gauge on the pole and in the car calculates electricity used. A camera records the license plate of the car to send a CTRICITY bill to our homes

What happens when there are no lampposts?

We have designed a backup windshield solar guide!

When lampposts are absent in remote areas, the car will have a solar powered windshield guide.

The guide will have photovoltaic cells which generate electricity and will help the car drive safely to a CTRIC Pathway to continue travel.

Future of Energy Efficient Travel

We believe that CTRIC Pathways will offer a cost effective and an energy efficient means of travel in the future.

Our Prototype for CTRIC Pathways

We built the Prototype out of Styrofoam sheets, sticks and decorative toy trees along with toy cars. The prototype shows use of existing lamp posts and highway signs.

Breakthroughs needed for Technology to Work

For this technology to work in 2029 the following breakthroughs will be necessary

Increase the range so that the wireless technology will work to a distance of 50 feet or more.

Make sure that the technology will work with fast moving cars and allow an uninterrupted flow of electricity at all times
