The SMART Moves suit assists by quickly sensing in the foot pad and vertical sensors that the weight is just a little off of the center of mass position. The battery sends a small amount of charge to the correct part of the SMART Moves suit where crystals in the memory alloys would line up and stiffen in the fabric, gently causing movement in just a small amount to help balance and to keep the user from falling over. The computer chip would send a signal to the fabric image screen, letting the person know that their position has been corrected.
