One individual, two potential futures

Kiet Sansurin was born in a rural village in Thailand, one of five children in an agrarian family with a tight budget.

Born with a severe cleft lip and palate, Kiet experienced significant infections and communication issues throughout his childhood.

Unable to obtain employment other than menial day labor, Kiet is often forced to beg on the streets.

While Kiet's older sister underwent cleft lip surgery during a SmileTrain medical mission, his mother volunteered to undergo MIROR examination of her unborn son.

Kiet's significant cleft defect was diagnosed and repaired prior to birth. He showed an early interest in painting and drawing.

As an adult, Kiet became a successful artist, attracting tourists and employing other community members in his thriving business.

MIROR Technology has the potential to radically change lives before birth.
