The Fascinating Toothbrush Sensor

Present Day Technology

What kinds of toothbrushes do people use today?

Today many people use regular toothbrushes made out of plastic. These brushes have soft, medium, or hard bristles. A small head with soft or medium bristles is best.  If the bristles are too hard you could scratch the enamel of your teeth.  People also use electric toothbrushes. They’re great to use!  They have small round heads that rotate on each tooth.

Our toothbrush of the future

Our toothbrush of the future will have special bacteria sensors that will detect if you still have bacteria on your teeth.  The toothbrush will let you know as soon as your teeth are perfectly clean.  The special sensor will be built right into the bristles of the toothbrush.  When the sensor detects bacteria, the handle of the toothbrush will glow. A voice will say, “You need to keep brushing!”  The toothbrush will stop glowing as soon as the teeth are all clean.

The things that we would need for our invention are:

  1. Plastic (it’s light and doesn’t rust)
  2. Bristles
  3. Bacteria sensors
  4. Glowing light bulbs
