A company called Sharklet is using nanotechnology to create an anti-bacterial plastic that is inspired by shark skin. They use nanotechnology to create complex Nano patterns that bacteria cannot stick to. Their material has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Staph a., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, VRE, E. coli, MRSA and other types that make people sick. In the S.M.A.R.T School, desks and chairs and other surfaces kids sit and or touch would be made out of this special bacteria-repelling plastic.
