Medical Implementation

We plan to effectively treat PTSD using dendrimers that will carry special PNN-digesting enzymes such as chondroitinase ABC from initial injection into the bloodstream, across the blood-brain barrier, and to targeted areas in the brain that are activated during flashbacks and under high stress. The enzymes will then be released to break apart the PNNs in these areas and allow for new neuronal activity to overwrite existing connections, eliminating the trauma caused by fear-based memories and alleviating the root cause of PTSD. This method of treatment will thus be more effective and long-lasting than existing PTSD treatments.
