Current Safety Features

Vehicles have lots of safety features in them. These are good to stop accidents, but none of them help protect when the car is turned off.

Car seats are used to keep kids safe in the car, but they are not good if the baby can't get out of them when the car is too hot.

 

         

          

Why we need the Hot Car Safety System

• In 2013 there were 42 kids that died in cars, 6 were because the kids were left in the car on a hot day and the kids got sick from the heat.
• Since 1998, 603 kids have died because they were left in a car on a hot day.
• This is an important problem and there is NOTHING in the car to stop this.
• Seat belts help keep a child strapped in the car, but if it is hot, you should try to escape immediately.
• Never leave a child from birth to 3 in the car.
