Almost one billion people, 1/8 of the world population, do not have access to potable water! In fact, 80% of illnesses in developing countries can be traced to dirty water. Our amphipathic film provides a new way to collect water from the atmosphere through a surface modeled after the Stenocara Beetle of the Namib desert. This website provide detailed information through text, videos, and pictures on why we need new methods for water collection, how amphipathic films work, what steps we have taken so far to produce our film, and what’s left to be done.
