History

There is evidence of arsenic dating back to the 4th century B.C. By the 11th century, three types of arsenic were discovered. In 1649, J. Schroder reported the preparation of metallic arsenic. In the 18th century the properties of metallic arsenic were identified and classified as semimetal. Millions of people have arsenic-contaminated drinking water. It has been discovered that arsenic is in most of the groundwater aquifers in Bangladesh and the people of Bangladesh are suffering greatly from it. Some of the states in our country have arsenic in the groundwater too.
