Breakthroughs

Breakthroughs need to occur in science and technology within the next twenty years for production of the AI to be a possibility. To successfully convert sound and balance waves into electrical impulses, a better understanding of how electrical signals are transmitted from the cochlear and vestibular nerve to the brain needs to be achieved. Also, a nerve-splicing technology must be developed to enable the AI to be connected to the auditory and vestibular nerves. Furthermore, a method of converting body heat to electricity will need to be discovered to provide power for the AI to function. Finally, since the removal of the balance-oriented portion of the cochlea is nesesary to provide space for the AI, a liquid-displacement artificial balance system must be developed.
